Best Smartphone iQOO 10 Pro Short Review:
iQOO has successfully buried its gaming-phone roots after three years. Vivo iQOO 8 was launched in August, Vivo iQOO 9 in January, and iQoo 10 in July, as promised. It’s crucial not to wait too long between generations. The Vivo iQOO 10 Pro boasts a faster 8+ Gen 1 CPU, 200W charging, 3x fake optical zoom, and a higher price than the 9 Pro.
Both the 9 Pro and 10 Pro were good alternatives in their pricing groups when they were released. iQOO is exploring higher pricing as the series stays popular. It’s become a flagship series like Vivo’s.
After two weeks of usage, I can affirm that the upgraded Pro model has no notable differences from the 9 Pro on paper. The phone featured several improvements over its predecessors, though. Even before I used it, the 9 Pro’s 120W charging speed amazed me. As a user, I can’t tell whether 200W quick charging is useful. We’ll talk later.
iQOO 10 Pro Design:
The new look is excellent. The 9 Pro’s replacement looks similar. The BMW M-branded legend version keeps the black-and-white cutaway and brilliant band. The top cover is black glass with a carbon-fiber pattern, and the bottom is an eco-leather-like fabric. It’s heavy and well-made.
The three-camera system resembles the iPhone 9 Pro. The main camera has 50 megapixels with micro-gimbal stability; the wide-angle camera has 50 megapixels and optical image stabilization. iQOO also uses Vivo’s V1+ imaging & display chip for the first time. Its noise-canceling chip inserts MEMC frames in real-time, making it excellent for low-light conditions. Compared to models without an image chip, it didn’t provide significant improvements.
iQOO 10 Pro Display:
On the front of the device is a 2K, 120hz Samsung AMOLED E5 screen. Edge-curved screens no longer interest me. You’ll be able to hold the phone better, but you’ll only be able to see half of the screen. It makes the phone bigger, but it doesn’t make the bezels smaller.
Excellent screen. At 2K resolution, the screen is clear and bright, but 1080P isn’t as good as other screens.
This problem affects how the game looks because frame interpolation needs 1080p. Increasing the rate to 120 fps made the graphics look fuzzy and slowed down the screen. If you choose 90Hz to save power, your gaming experience will be worse.
Remember that when the brightness is low, the screen flickers. If you can’t stand flickering, don’t watch in low light. You could also turn on “DC-like dimming” in the developer settings. This shows that consumers have to put up with more background noise and distorted colors. I just pointed out issues. The screens on other top-of-the-line phones have the same problems.
The Snapdragon 888 and 8Gen1 embedded CPUs have been taken out of service in the iQoo digital series. Don’t worry about how well it works.
Genshin Impact ran at an average of 58.6 frames per second on the phone with the highest visual settings and a temperature of 25°C (albeit this did vary somewhat). It controls electricity and temperature better than 9 Pro on 8 Gen 1. After setting optimal power utilization for frame interpolation, the measured rate in-game went up to 45 fps, but the gameplay frame rate went up to 90 fps.
It’s noticeable that the phone’s surface temperature has gone down. Touch sensitivity was decreased, and the resulting photos were not as clear as the originals.
The X series enhanced Vivo’s camera reputation. Vivo iQOO 10 Pro has the V1+ image chipset and micro-gimbal stabilization. Both cameras are holdovers from the 9 Pro, with the main camera’s aperture decreased from F1.9 to F1.88.
It’s unclear how the V1+ chip helps daylight images, although they have great clarity and contrast and can be turned to HDR. Viewfinder imaging has no delay.
Micro-gimbal stabilization is better than smartphone OIS solutions. Visible camera movement. When taking videos or stills, the tiniest movement of our nondominant hand wasn’t reflected in the viewfinder. The main camera is great, but the wide-angle one isn’t. 50MP resolution gives samples amazing detail. It may also be transformed into a long lens with a broad field of view.
Night photography is when micro-gimbal excels. Stabilizes nighttime photos. Even in low light, the phone may surprise. Wide-angle photos were brighter while zooming closer revealed fuzzy and smeared samples.
I mostly use the 3x optical lens. In well-lit situations, it records action with little to no blurring or oversharpening, and its color palette is close to the main lens.
In 3x nighttime mode, the wide-angle lens was used instead of the telephoto. I usually photograph in night mode to avoid using the 3x telephoto. It’s far better than the originals. OIS helps preserve picture stability even with prolonged exposure times.
The 10 Pro’s triple cameras can capture 4K video at 60 fps, a first for high-end smartphones. In 1080p at 30 fps, the iPhone can achieve even higher brightness, making it suitable for nighttime usage. The V1+ chip reduces noise while filming 1080P, but only at 30 fps.
Battery & Charging:
Its 4700 mAh Li-Po battery is built-in. 200W quick charging is the phone’s biggest enhancement. The screen-off test charge lasted 10 minutes. To rejuvenate it, have a short breakfast. Even with the screen on, charging takes 17 minutes. See its battery life here.
The sound quality also surprised me. Put on some headphones and listen. This phone has no headphone jack.
The 10 Pro contains a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader. I have no doubt that the Vivo iQOO 10 Pro will add to the series’ success since it combines strong performance and a great camera. The paper’s promise wasn’t fulfilled. The 10 Pro’s V1+ chip didn’t quite wow us.
