We recently heard that Vivo plans to release the X80 Pro+ around the world in October, but that might not be the only device that comes out then. Rootmygalaxy found out today that the Chinese company has started making firmware for the Vivo X80 Lite 5G with model number V2208.
Even though no details about the phone have leaked yet, we’re excited to see what it could offer. Maybe it will run on Qualcomm’s new upper-midrange Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset? Will it have the same Zeiss logo on its cameras as the more expensive X80? We can’t answer these questions right now, but if you stay tuned, we’ll let you know when we find out more about this fascinating new smartphone.
Since there isn’t much else known about it yet, it’s probably still early in the development process; which is why an October release makes sense. It would be the cheapest member of the X80 family, and it’s interesting to see Vivo go the Lite route; since it has been much less willing to do so than every other Chinese company. After the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80, Pro came out earlier this year; it’s time to turn our attention to a third phone in the X80 family. A reliable source in the business world told us that a new X-series device will be coming out in September. It won’t be a small change to the existing X80 models; so the most likely phone to come out is the rumored Vivo X80 Pro+.
After the X80 duo was well received; Vivo moved up to the second place (with a 13% market share) in China’s premium smartphone market in Q2 2022; according to the latest report from Counterpoint Research. With the new X80 Pro+ phone, the company wants to build on the success of the X80 and X80 Pro.
Vivo X80 Pro+ Specification:
The X80 Pro+ is expected to come out with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a better camera setup. There are rumors that the X80 Pro+ will have the 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 (1/2.76 inch size, 0.64 m pixel size) and 50MP ISOCELL JN2 (1/1.12 inch size, 1.4um pixel size); sensors in addition to the X80 Pro’s 50MP main sensor and 48MP ultrawide sensor.
Early rumors said there would be two versions of the Vivo X80 Pro. A Pro+ with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a Pro with a Dimensity 9000. Both chipsets turned out to be available on the Pro model (at least in China), but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a Pro+ model.
The Vivo X80 Pro+ will get the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset; which promises 10% better peak CPU performance and 30% better power efficiency than the original.
Some reports say that the Pro+ will also improve the camera with the following setup; 50MP + 48MP (IMX598) + 50MP (Jn1) + 50MP (JN2). The first two sound the same as the regular model’s main and ultra-wide cameras, but the last two are different. In addition to its 8MP 5x periscope, the Pro also boasts a 12MP 2x camera.
The charge speed could also be increased from 80W to 120W, but the display will likely stay the same. Those are the rumors that haven’t been proven true.
